Bakary Sako is finalising terms with West Brom as he looks to agree a short term contract this week.
The 30-year-old winger left Crystal Palace in the summer so is a free agent. He has been training with Albion and could be in their squad to face Preston North End this weekend if terms are concluded.
West Brom are due to announce Luke Dowling as their new technical director over the next 24 hours.
Bakary Sako is closing in on a switch to West Brom and could be in the squad for the weekend
Sako scored six goals in 19 appearances for Palace last season, before a fractured ankle in February ended his season.
With Andros Townsend, Jason Puncheon and Wilfried Zaha among a host of players ahead of Sako in manager Roy Hodgson’s thoughts, he was available to trial with the Baggies.
West Brom boss Darren Moore is said to have been left impressed with Sako’s performances on trial with the club in the last 10 days and, having proven his fitness, is ready to be handed a short-term deal.
