After being constrained by the defensive football under Antonio Conte, it’s understandable that Eden Hazard is loving life under new boss, Maurizio Sarri.

The Belgian has been in scintillating form since returning from the World Cup, grabbing five goals and two assists in six games with Chelsea remaining undefeated following their 0-0 draw with West Ham.

Talking to Sky Sports, Hazard hailed Sarri as a ‘great manager’ but admitted that there’s still a long way to go and we are yet to see him tested:

‘He is a great manager, but it’s easy to say when you are winning games. We will see in a bad moment. For sure he is a great manager, and he showed that to the world.’

After impressing last season, especially at the World Cup, Hazard became the first Belgian ever named in the FIFPro World XI, being named ahead of big names such as Mohamed Salah.

Hazard’s incredible form and Sarri’s attacking football is a match made in heaven and a lethal combination which will be crucial to the Blues’ success this season. When asked whether he was enjoying Sarri’s style of play Hazard responded: ‘Of course.

‘We try to keep the ball. When you are an offensive player you just want to keep the ball. We create a lot of passes and chances. Yesterday we had a bit of trouble [against West Ham] but I think the beginning of the season was great.’

Sarri will have to prove his worth this week as Chelsea face a double header of Liverpool games, travelling to Anfield on Wednesday for the Carabao Cup before both teams put their undefeated records on the line in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
