Youri Tielemans is reportedly set to undergo a medical at Leicester on Saturday ahead of completing a club-record £40million move.

Tielemans travelled to Birmingham on Friday evening to try to wrap up the switch prior to the Foxes’ pre-season training camp in France next week, according to Sky Sports

Leicester have already brought in James Justin from Luton and Newcastle forward Ayoze Perez this summer.

Tielemans starred in a loan spell from Monaco in the second half of last season and Brendan Rodgers has been determined to add him to his squad permanently.

Manchester United and Tottenham were interested in Tielemans but Leicester were the only club to commit firmly and negotiations have advanced towards a conclusion.

As revealed by Sportsmail the French side set a £40m fee in January, leaving Leicester to opt for a trial run to begin with, but Rodgers was sufficiently impressed to commit to the club’s highest fee for a signing.

The 22-year-old scored three goals and laid on five assists in 13 games and showed excellent understanding with Jamie Vardy and James Maddison.

Tielemans was eager to get the deal sorted in time for pre-season, with players who appeared in the Nations League due back next week.
